2010 was absolutely huge for Example; he took the UK charts by storm with two Top 10 smash hit singles, 'Won't Go Quietly' and 'Kickstarts' - which both achieved silver sales – while his anthem-packed album 'Won't Go Quietly' was certified gold. Having played a packed festival schedule, the BBC Radio 1 Student Tour and his own sold out 14-date headline UK tour, he finished off the year by releasing 'Two Lives', featuring on Professor Green’s hit ‘Monster’ and hitting the road again as the main support act for dance music legends Faithless' winter tour.

All these successes contributed to Example becoming THE breakthrough act of 2010; but as the saying goes, there's no rest for the wicked, and 2011 has become Example's biggest and best year yet. In January he released a free download of a recent collaboration with Skream, 'Shot Yourself In The Foot Again', which went A-list on Radio 1, topped the Hype Machine chart and had over 40,000 downloads. The video was created and co-directed by Example himself and received over 1 million views in less than a month. Meanwhile his collaboration with label-mate Wretch 32, 'Unorthodox' was a smash hit, reaching #2 in the Official UK Singles Chart in April 2011.

Now Example is gearing up to release his third album, 'Playing In The Shadows', which will be unleashed on 4th September. Having debuted some of his new tracks throughout his February/March UK headline tour, the man himself has proclaimed on Twitter: "The new album is for people who like MUSIC." And like it they definitely do; the first single, 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' (produced by Ministry of Sound club resident Michael Woods), smashed straight into the top of the charts, stayed at #1 for 2 consecutive weeks and has already sold well over 350,000 copies.

And following a packed festival and gig summer schedule, Example dropped his second single, 'Stay Awake', on 28th August. Having had its world premiere on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show on 1st July, the single smashed the charts going straight to the top of the UK Official Top 40 on 4th September. And a week later, his third album ‘Playing In The Shadows’ also hit the #1 spot in the charts!

Having just returned from performing around the world in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, Example is gearing up to release his third single from ‘Playing In The Shadows’ on 16th October. ‘Natural Disaster’ is a collaboration with one of the world’s biggest DJs, Laidback Luke, and looks set to propel Example high into the charts once again.Example is also preparing to hit the road again for a UK headline tour this October/November, has just announced a European tour in February/March 2012 and will be following that straight away with a tour of the UK’s biggest arenas in April/May 2012, supported by label mate Wretch 32. There really is no rest for the wicked...
