Those “Pop Smack” boys from Reading are back, with a fourth self-release single “I Don't Know Where You’re Sleeping Tonight” and a brand new line up. Gary Kingham is still fronting the band on lead vocals/guitar, with Josh Woodward on Bass, but there are new additions; Evert Outen on Keys and Sam Igoe on Drums. Mellor’s energetic indie pop sound with nostalgic jive appeal bursts at the seams with catchy choruses and electric guitar riffs. The new single unleashes the bands more mature but still distinctly recognisable sound once again, with Gary’s raw passionate vocal rising over this upbeat, rhythmic single.

After catching the eye of BBC Introducing after just one gig, Mellor spent their first year sharing stages with the likes Athlete and more recently Carl Barat and The Jackals. Whilst continuing to clock up fans with their unrelenting gig assault on towns across the UK they also officially released their music to increasing demand. These self-releases saw incredible support from NME, Artrocker, Drowned in Sound, Q, Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio, BBC Introducing Berkshire and 6 music’s Tom Robinson. It looks like “Mellor Mania” is here to stay...

Mellor single launch - 23rd May – Bowery District, Reading

“Music that’s not too reminiscent of The Kinks and The Beatles and comes all the way from…Reading” - London On The Inside

“The four-piece band, hailing from Reading, are what I’d imagine would happen if a scientist combined The Libertines with The Beatles – a kind of indie rock ‘n’ roll.  It’s about time real music was played again.” - AAA Music (5 star review)

“Song craft will be top notch” – Linda Serck (BBC Radio Berkshire).
