Jared Leto: 'I’ve worn heels, so I feel your pain ladies'

Jared Leto says he feels women's "pain" because he has worn high heels and tights for film roles.

The 30 Seconds to Mars singer made the remark whilst appearing at the Cannes Lions festival recently.

He was asked by an audience member during a Q&A if playing the part of a transgender person in Dallas Buyers Club gave him an insight into women’s rights.

Leto replied: "It would be nice if I did have the right to speak on behalf of women. I’ve worn the heels, I’ve put on the tights and everything else, so I feel your pain ladies."

The singer and actor earned his first Oscar for his role as Rayon in the film.

The US star picked up the Best Supporting Actor prize, whilst lead Matthew McConaughey bagged the Best Actor award.
