50 Cent on Zayn Malik collaboration goal: 'Hopefully we can do something together'

'In Da Club' hitmaker 50 Cent has revealed that he wants to get former One Direction member Zayn Malik into the studio to do "some sort of collaboration" in the near future.

During a new interview with Britain's Daily Star Online, the rap sensation admitted that he is definitely interested in working with the young star: "There has been talks to me signing Zayn, yeah..."

"I'm a fan of his, I like his music. I think hopefully we can do something. Some sort of collaboration. I don't know if it's actually signing to the company or if it's just recording songs together you know."

When asked if he would try to gear Malik's sound towards the hip-hop scene, 50 Cent added that he would actually encourage the young singer to stick with what he's good at because he is incredibly talented:

"I'd say keep the sound to what he does now. Musically if he was inclined to do something different I would open the door in that way. You know I wouldn't force a direction but that's what a collaboration is it's the artists finding a place between each other."
