50 Cent named autism charity ambassador

Rap sensation and entrepreneur 50 Cent has signed up to become the ambassador of an autism charity in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The 'In Da Club' hitmaker came under fire earlier this year after making a derogatory comment to a Twitter user that referenced the condition, but has now attempted to redeem himself by stepping in to help out with the Dubai Autism Center, which he visited recently and he met with children diagnosed with autism.

To help the worthy cause, 50 Cent will donate a percentage of proceeds from sales of his SMS Audio headphones range in the UAE during the month of November.

Speaking about his involvement, he explained: "It's not just about donating money. It's about donating hope, and lending a hand to show we care. Every child deserves the chance to reach for his or her dreams."
