50 Cent talks album release delay

Rap star and G-Unit CEO 50 Cent has revealed the reasons behind the delay of his long-awaited fifth solo album.

The rapper has been through some recent legal trouble, but has insisted that he has been putting off his release for reasons unrelated.

"I don't really need the money off of the record. I want the record to be right. I'm not doing it without a plan; I'm not putting it out like that," 50 Cent told MTV News.

The star went on to comment about the readiness of his record label Interscope, saying he wants the company to be prepared before going ahead with the release. "It's a lot of staff changes, a lot of different people moving in and moving out, so you got to kind of wait until everything's right; until it's settled in," he said.

50 Cent hasn’t released a solo record since 2009 but has since released collaborations with the likes of Eminem, Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar.
