Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer have set the release date for their debut album.

5 Seconds of Summer – made up by Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin – signed with Capitol Records in late 2013 and enjoyed a No. 1 hit in the UK with their premiere single ‘She Looks So Perfect’.

Whilst the Aussie foursome have previously released two EPs independently – ‘Unplugged’ and ‘Somewhere New’ – fans are awaiting their major label LP.

An article on 5 Seconds to Summer in an upcoming issue of Seventeen Magazine has reported that the band’s debut album will be released on July 22.

An extract from the story states: “If you're officially as in love with these dudes as we are, be sure to catch them on the road with One Direction this summer, and get ready for their debut album, out July 22!”

The band previously revealed that they wrote over 100 songs for their forthcoming album.

5 Seconds of Summer will join One Direction on their ‘Where We Are’ world tour for their European and North American dates.
