5 Seconds Of Summer on fans: 'They know more about us than our parents'

Australian heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that while they adore their fan base, it can be a little overwhelming at times to feel as though nothing can be kept private.

Member Luke Hemmings confessed to the Daily Telegraph that there is no sense of privacy anymore because of social media, and fans want to have full unedited access: "Yeah, it’s not the 80s anymore, people want to know who you are — they want to know everything. You need to tell your fans everything."

Calum Hood, who plays bass in the band, went on to add that 5 Seconds Of Summer's followers probably know more about each of them than their own families do: "They probably know more now than my parents do.”

Hood also opened up about the bond he has formed with the other guys in the 'She Looks So Perfect' group, explaining that they were all outcasts at school, but music brought them together: "When we joined the band we were definitely outcasts — we weren’t bullied but we were outcasts. Being in the band just cemented everything, we’re brothers now, best friends."
