5 Seconds of Summer reckon it's "strange" knowing that legions of females like their band.

The young Australian group have enjoyed a quick rise to fame recently, hitting No.1 across the world with 'She Looks So Perfect'.

They recently admitted that they didn't have many friends in school and the group have now told Australia's Today that it still feels weird that girls like them.

Luke Hemmings said: "It's such a strange thing for girls to like our band."

Calum Hood added: "I feel like they think I'm cooler than I actually am."

Michael Clifford chimed in: "I think they're all playing a big practical joke on us."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are due to play the Capital FM Summertime Ball at London's Wembley Stadium on June 21.
