5 Seconds of Summer have hit No.2 on the Billboard Social 50 list.

The chart tallies together numerous strands of online activity, such as weekly additions of fans across social networking websites, Twitter conversations and hits on Wikipedia.

The Australians, who Billboard call "masters of social media", have jumped from No.6 to No.2 this week.

This is partly down to their appearance on the VEVO Lift series, which helped see a 58 percent increase in weekly visits to their Wikipedia page.

Justin Bieber meanwhile is No.1 on the list, whilst Miley Cyrus is No.3 and Ariana Grande is No.4.
