5 Seconds of Summer thank fans after bagging UK No.2

5 Seconds of Summer have expressed their gratitude towards their UK fans after their latest single reached No.2 in the country.

The lads came second on Sunday's (June 22) chart with 'Don't Stop', selling just 3,000 copies less than No.1 Ella Henderson.

Despite not reaching the top spot, the Australians appeared to be grateful for the No.2.

Calum Hood said on Twitter: "I just wanna thank you guys for getting don't stop to number 2 on the UK charts! You are the best! Don't forever it! Thank you thank you xx."

Ashton Irwin added: "Thank you...So so so much, for the number 2 song this week in the UK, you are all amazing people, and so supportive, hope you love the album.

"Gah, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you."

5 Seconds of Summer's self-titled debut album meanwhile will be released in the UK on June 30.
