5SOS: 'We want to help people with our songwriting'

Hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer have opened up about the ultimate goal they have for their band and what they want to achieve.

Drummer Ashton Irwin explained to Australian Associated Press that if his band can help people who have been through tough things, that's all that really matters to him because he wants to give back to fans as much as possible:

"I think I have a strong message to sort of deliver sometimes to people who have been through things. I really want to help people, that's what I do with songwriting."

Calum Hood went onto add that constantly travelling and exposing themselves to new people and experiences inspires them with things to pen tracks about: "We live a pretty weird life, everyday we're always doing something different so it really helps. Seeing different things and experiencing different people's perspectives, we find inspiration everywhere."
