5 Seconds of Summer have suggested that their debut album holds a great emotional attachment.

The Australians are releasing the self-titled record across the globe from today onwards and fans' excitement is at fever pitch.

It seems to all be hitting home for the 'She Looks So Perfect' quartet, with drummer Ashton Irwin saying on Twitter:

"Can't explain how much this album means to us...I just hope you like it that's all."

The album meanwhile features tracks such as 'Amnesia', 'Don't Stop' and 'Kiss Me Kiss Me' and it is expected to become a worldwide smash.

The group are currently out on the road supporting One Direction on their Where We Are world stadium tour in Europe.

They will later this year do it all over again in North America.
