5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin has expressed his continuing surprise at the lengths the band's fans to go see their idols.

The Australians have developed a worldwide fanbase over the last year and their progress is showing no signs of stopping.

Many fans will do all they can to get close to the band and drummer Irwin took to Twitter to praise those who camp out overnight.

He said: "Still can't believe people actually camp out to see our band, you guys are so epic, never ending thank you's."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are due to release their self-titled debut album in the US on July 22.

It has already gone on sale around the world and the record has enjoyed a strong chart performance.
