5 Seconds of Summer were on hand to help out as One Direction's band took part in the ALS ice bucket challenge.

A number of celebrities have filmed themselves being dunked in a bucket of ice or icy water to raise awareness for neurodegenerative illness ALS.

Big names Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber have all undertaken the challenge so far.

One Direction's band members are the latest to go under the ice and they had the help of tour buddies 5 Seconds of Summer to do the honour.

The group got topless as the Australians soaked the musicians.

The pop-punks are currently supporting One Direction on their Where We Are world stadium tour.
