5 Seconds of Summer have revealed their desire to become the "best live band" possible.

The young Australians are developing a strong reputation in the live music scene and they are currently in the US supporting One Direction.

The played at this weekend's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas and they told Billboard at the event about their goal of perfecting their on-stage craft.

Drummer Ashton Irwin said: "We've always wanted to be the best live band we can be. We want people to come and we want them to leave going 'Man, I can't wait to see that band again, they rock'."

The band meanwhile added that the most of the writing for their second album will take place in 2015.
