5SOS have 'three or four' new songs: 'We have started writing for our next album'

'She Looks So Perfect' heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival over the weekend and teased fans by confirming that work on their next album has very much begun.

Speaking to Billboard at the event, they explained that writing sessions are in motion and progress is being made on the follow up to their smash-hit self-titled debut offering: "We've started writing for the next album!"

Next spring, the lads will head out on a massive arena tour and the band's drummer, Ashton Irwin, admitted that planning for a live run of such a huge size is a dream come true as the possibilities of what they could have for their next stage show are endless:

“It's incredible to even have the opportunity to create an amphitheater/arena show. I'm really looking forward to that. I really want people just to leave the show going, 'Wow, I can't wait to see a 5 Seconds of Summer show again.' I'd like to be known for our live shows, so I really want to put on an experience for our fans."

Earlier this month, the boys confessed that they've written a couple of tracks that might be a great fit for their new album: "We've written about three or four songs that could be on the next album. We're moving along now and writing new stuff."
