Australian hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer attract swarms of screaming fans wherever they go, but one of the lads has now revealed that having to listen to screeching all the time has seriously impacted his hearing.

Red-haired heartthrob Michael Clifford confessed to Billboard after their set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival that being around constant screaming has taken a serious toll on his ability to hear, and a recent appointment with a hearing expert revealed a startling truth.

He explained that he can no longer hear certain sounds as a result of excessive exposure to them: "I have a fact. I went to a hearing check-up and I've actually lost high-pitched noises in my right ear... just altogether, they're gone."

The 'She Looks So Perfect' hitmakers, meanwhile, are just finishing up their tour in support of One Direction and will play the final show on October 5 at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.
