5SOS on second album: 'We're definitely feeling creative'

'She Looks So Perfect' heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that progress is definitely being made on their sophomore studio album, but it is incredibly slow because their schedule for the rest of 2014 is very busy.

During a new interview with MTV News, the band's drummer Ashton Irwin explained that they have been feeling inspired lately so have been trying to strike while the iron is hot, but it's hard 'trying to fit in' writing and general work on their second record at the moment:

"We've been trying to [write new music]. 'Trying' is the key word, we've been trying to fit it in. We've been so busy lately, but we are definitely feeling creative again and excited to write a second album."

He then added, teasingly: "We don't know whether we are supposed to be keeping secrets or not. We want to have some surprises up our sleeves."

Meanwhile, member Michael Clifford has just confessed that he can no longer hear high-pitched soundsas a result of constantly being around swarms of screaming fans: "I have a fact. I went to a hearing check-up and I've actually lost high-pitched noises in my right ear... just altogether, they're gone."
