5 Seconds of Summer: 'The biggest job was getting YouTube fans to come to gigs'

5 Seconds of Summer believe one of their biggest tasks was ensuring their fans on YouTube came to their live shows.

The band have developed a strong online presence over the last few years and they reached a lot of fans via YouTube covers.

However, the group told the Grammys' website that they had to try hard to transfer those online fans to the live music circuit.

This is because the Australians pride themselves on creating the best stage show they can.

Ashton Irwin said: "We were building a fan base but we sort of wanted to be like a live band known for our live performances. So that was the biggest job - transferring a YouTube audience to people who [will] actually come down to [our] show."
