5 Seconds of Summer star Luke Hemmings has suggested that the band would be nothing without their fans.

The group performed on Good Morning America on Tuesday (September 30) and they were greeted with an enthusiastic crowd.

Speaking after the gig - which saw the Australians perform 'Amnesia' and 'She Looks So Perfect' - singer and guitarist Hemmings said that their audiences make the band look better.

He said: "Thank you to everyone who came out today! Met a bunch of you guys and you are awesome. You make us look good."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are due to follow-up the high-profile slot with an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show on Thursday (October 2).

The pop-punks are currently on tour in North America supporting One Direction on their Where We Are stadium run, which will end on October 5.
