5 Seconds of Summer thank One Direction for 'changing their lives' as tour ends

5 Seconds of Summer have paid tribute to One Direction after their support tour ended.

The Australians have been warming up for the British-Irish boyband this year on their Where We Are stadium tour.

The North America leg ended on Sunday (October 5) in Miami and the 'Don't Stop' stars took to Twitter after the date to thank One Direction for helping to change their lives.

Michael Clifford wrote: "Amazing. love all of you. Thank you so much to all of the @onedirection guys for having us on their tours and changing our lives."

Bandmate Calum Hood added: "Bittersweet day today. Sad to be leaving the 1d tour but happy to be starting a new chapter. Couldnt repay what they've done for our band :)."

It was confirmed recently meanwhile by Billboard that One Direction have a financial stake in 5 Seconds of Summer, who share the same management.
