5SOS's Ashton Irwin: 'Sometimes fans catch me in a bad mood'

Australian pop-punk hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer draw attention wherever they are and they have revealed that while they love the support their fans give them, they wish there was a little more privacy because sometimes they're caught at difficult moments and they don't want to give a bad impression.

Speaking to Adam Bomb at Q100 Atlanta recently, the guys were talking about the swarms of fans that follow them around wherever they go and drummer Ashton Irwin confessed that it's nice, but he doesn't like being confronted before he has eaten in the morning because he's always grumpy first thing after waking up:

"It's bad when they catch us before breakfast because I'm always in a terrible mood. I think they're kind of shocked, like, 'you're really rude'."

They were then asked about their forthcoming new album and direction for the future, and Irwin explained that they hope they will grow and change as they learn more and gain more experiences as a group: "The bands we look up to have done that so I think we like to imagine ourselves in a few years as a... not a different band, but a band that has grown in a live situation - recordings and music-wise as well."
