5SOS reveal what they really don't like about being famous

Aussie pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer are currently enjoying huge success around the globe, but they have revealed that there are bad things about fame and they have been exposed to things they don't like about the entertainment industry.

During a new interview with Australia's 2DayFM, drummer Ashton Irwin admitted that he has seen the dark side of fame and is surprised at how genuine certain people are who have been painted in a negative light in the press:

"There are a lot of things... I don't like how a lot of people try to make other people look stupid. I don't like that. A lot of people are genuine people, but a lot of people are stupid as well. I've met a lot of genuine people who have been put down in the public eye and they're really beautiful people. Good things (about fame) are that people get a voice, and good people get voices. I love that people come through the woodwork who have really strong ideas and messages that influence people."

Frontman Luke Hemmings also weighed in on the question and criticised the amount of control label executives have, adding that he doesn't like being controlled or pushed into fitting in with a particular look or style:

"I don't like how people tried to decide what we were before we even knew what we were. People would try to put us in a category and would say 'you have to do this or that', and we were like, 'no, we don't want to do that'."
