5SOS on Michael Clifford's absence: 'It feels like we're betraying him by continuing with our schedule'

Australia's 5 Seconds Of Summer are currently in the UK without guitarist Michael Clifford because the rocker lost his passport in America and was consequently unable to make the trip with them.

Drummer Ashton Irwin told BBC Radio 1 this morning (December 9) that performing and even just travelling without red-haired Clifford was strange and felt, in a way, like a betrayal

"I hated him not being there it was the worst. It's just so wrong when you're in a band and a guy's not there. It's almost like you're betraying him. We were on stage as a three piece and it just wasn't awesome at all."

As previously reported, 5SOS's frontman Luke Hemmings told Nick Grimshaw (pictured above left with the boys) that the tour manager looks after the lads' passports most of the time, so it's surprising that Clifford managed to misplace his at all:

"Our tour manager holds our passports and will give it to us before the flight. Then we'll have it for maybe an hour and then he'll take it back off us. In that time he's lost it."
