5 Seconds of Summer are one of the frontrunners for the Capital Loves 2014 awards.

Radio network Capital FM have announced the nominees for their end of year awards event and a host of big names have been honoured.

Aussies 5 Seconds of Summer will vie for a number of gongs, including Best Group, Best Album and Breakers.

Their track 'She Looks So Perfect' is also up for the Best Single category.

Other multiple nominees include Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Calvin Harris and One Direction.

The results of the awards will be announced on the radio network on December 28.
