5 Seconds of Summer: 'Playing live is the most important thing to us'

5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin says the band's priority is playing live.

The group have just released their first concert album 'LIVESOS' and it rounds off a successful year on the road for the Australians.

The quartet supported One Direction on their world stadium tour and they have also headlined their own dates.

Speaking to Maximum Pop, drummer Irwin said playing live is where it's at for 5 Seconds of Summer.

He said: "It's an incredible thing that we've got the opportunity to release a live album. It's the most important thing to us.

"We've played hundreds of live shows and it's great that we get to share it with the fans - they can basically listen to a live performance whenever they want."

5 Seconds of Summer added that they think they sound better live than on record.
