5 Seconds of Summer have been snapped with Chad Kroeger in a recording studio.

The group uploaded a picture of drummer Ashton Irwin and bassist Calum Hood with the Nickelback mainman on Tuesday (February 3).

They appear to be at NightBird Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

Kroeger was also pictured recently with One Direction's Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson in the studio.

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are currently keeping busy by writing and recording for their second album.

They tweeted after posting the Kroeger picture: "Very productive day today, writing and recording, absolutely lovin it."
