5 Seconds of Summer have been writing new material on the beach.

The Australians are currently in the throes of writing and recording songs for their next album.

It seems they are willing to channel their musical inspiration in all locations - including a sandy beach.

The quartet uploaded a photo to Twitter of Luke Hemmings and Ashton Irwin alongside the likes of producer John Feldmann with guitars.

They wrote: "Wrote on the beach the other day...LOVED it."

5 Seconds of Summer's self-titled debut album meanwhile was released in 2014.
