5 Seconds of Summer have joked that their new album will be called 'Tender SOS'.

The group are currently working hard on the follow-up to their 2014 self-titled debut record.

Speaking on Twitter on Thursday (March 5), the Australians quipped that they are tempted to make the album into a soft, ballad-strewn affair.

They wrote: "Wrote a ballad today...The album will be called Tender SOS #tendersos.

"No not tinder SOS."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile have been writing with the likes of Sum 41's Deryck Whibley and Bonnie McKee on new tunes.
