Hey Violet have been confirmed as the support act for 5 Seconds of Summer's upcoming world tour.

The group were the first act signed to the band's Hey Or Hi record label imprint.

The American band will open up for the Aussies on their Rock Out With Your Socks Out jaunt.

However, they will not perform on the Australia and New Zealand leg.

5 Seconds of Summer wrote on Twitter: "Excited to have our mates @HEYVIOLET supporting us on our #ROWYSOTour this year (excl OZ/NZ)!"

Hey Violet added: "We’re joining our friends @5SOS on their #ROWYSOTour this year! Can't wait to meet everyone and play our new music. x."

The world arena tour is due to open in Lisbon on May 4.

Hey Or Hi meanwhile is an imprint created by 5 Seconds of Summer in conjunction with Capitol.
