5 Seconds Of Summer's Ashton Irwin had an amazing surprise this week when one of his favourite teachers called into a radio station he was doing an interview with for a mini-reunion. 

During an interview with Dan and Maz, Irwin was surprised live on air with a call from former music teacher Mr. Turner. Upon hearing Turner's voice, the heartthrob told him: "I haven't had the chance to say this, this is awesome. Thank you so much for motivating my whole school life - to do better in music and to do what I do. You're an awesome teacher." 

"He was obviously talented and super enthusiastic and energetic... really just a pleasure to have in every ensemble he ever played in [...] I had to put him on a riser, centre stage every time! It was cool. Very, very cool. Now, Ashton, it has been a few years since you painted room 44... it needs a touch-up! That's the kind of bloke Ashton is! He'd come in on a weekend, he would paint the classroom and would come to all these rehearsals and performances... occasionally turn up to class!"

The 'She Looks So Perfect' hitmaker went onto add that Mr. Turner's comments make him sound a little geeky: "I sound like the biggest nerd of all time!"
