5SOS on new album: 'It connects with us emotionally'

Australian pop-punk quartet 5 Seconds Of Summer will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Sounds Good Feels Good', later this fall and they have now revealed that the offering deals with some mature themes.

Speaking to Billboard at their recent VEVO Certified concert, the heartthrobs opened up about their new record and drummer Ashton Irwin explained that they deal with some very personal and emotional topics in the songs that make up the tracklisting:

"'Sounds Good Feels Good' is not the same as the last album at all. It's very personal to us. The writing is a lot more emotional and explores different subjects that we haven't written about before. It really connects with us emotionally. We talk about childhood, we even touch on parents' divorce and stuff like that as well. We touch on love, heartbreak, loneliness, depression, anxiety -- all types of stuff."

5SOS's VEVO performance is set to be made available for all VEVO users on August 24 at 4pm ET.
