5SOS's Michael Clifford speaks about mental health struggle

Aussie pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer are currently on their Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour and during their stop in Detroit this week, guitarist Michael Clifford opened up about his mental health issues.

During their set, the heartthrob explained to the crowd that while his band had a little time off, he was in therapy confronting some problems: "I was fixing some problems with my mental health. I just saw a therapist real quick on the break we had."

Following this honest admission, '#WeLoveYouMichael' began trending on social media site Twitter and fans of the band showed their unwavering support for the young rocker.

The lads, meanwhile, will release their new album 'Sounds Good Feels Good' on October 23 and Ashton Irwin recently confessed that it deals with real issues and genuine emotions:

"'Sounds Good Feels Good' is not the same as the last album at all. It's very personal to us. The writing is a lot more emotional and explores different subjects that we haven't written about before. It really connects with us emotionally. We talk about childhood, we even touch on parents' divorce and stuff like that as well. We touch on love, heartbreak, loneliness, depression, anxiety -- all types of stuff."
