5SOS on music: 'Some people may think 'this band isn't for me''

'Jet Black Heart' hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer will unleash their new album 'Sounds Good Feels Good' on October 23 and they revealed that it's quite different from the material they broke onto the scene with.

Guitarist Michael Clifford told Australia's Daily Telegraph that it's important their new music showcases their growth as a both a band and as individuals, but it still needs to speak to their fans: “With the new album we wanted to make sure our fans get us. They do. And maybe now some people are saying this band isn’t for me."

“Admittedly a lot of people came to us from 1D. Now, to some of those people, we aren’t the band they thought we were. There was a weird perception of us when we first came out and that’s fair enough, we knew who we were playing to and we wouldn’t change it for anything."

“And if we had come out with 'She’s Kinda Hot' last year, we wouldn’t have been half as successful as we are now. It’s about us growing up and the fans are too.”
