5SOS land No.1 album in USA: 'Our fans give this band so much heart'

Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer have shot into the No.1 position on the Billboard 200 chart with their second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good' and drummer Ashton Irwin has weighed in on the amazing news on Twitter.

The heartthrob took to his social media page this morning (November 2) and told his followers that he's overwhelmed by the record's commercial success and wants to thank fans for being so enthusiastic about the release:

"'Sounds Good Feels Good' is number 1 in the USA... I'm proud of my brothers! And I love you all, for all the heart you give to this band. When you put your heart and soul into something you love, it will always work out. Thank you everyone so so much."

As previously reported, member Michael Clifford confessed that the lyrics on this album are important: "It was like a real release to write about some of the stuff that we have. And especially to get into talking about topics like...there's an anti-suicide anthem, you know. It talks about loneliness and stuff like that. That was something that we didn't get to explore on the last album, but you know, it's really important to us on this album."
