5 Seconds of Summer are getting closer to reaching No.1 on MTV's Stars poll.

The UK music television company are asking fans to tweet for their favourite act of 2015.

Lady Gaga is currently top of the list with around 30 million tweets.

However, 5 Seconds of Summer are edging closer every day.

At the time of writing, they have 29.9 million votes.

One Direction are close by in third place, while Britney Spears is an outsider at No.4.

Voting closes on December 15 and the winner will be revealed four days later.

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are currently riding a wave of success following the release of their second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good' in October.

The record reached No.1 in the US and the UK.
