5SOS's Luke on fame: ‘It shows you who is a true friend pretty quickly'

Now that 5 Seconds Of Summer have achieved the dizzying heights of global fame, they are never short of attention but that isn’t always a good thing according to frontman Luke Hemmings.

Speaking to Young Post this week, the star admitted that he has become more wary of the people he lets into his life as he always wonders if they have ulterior motives in wanting to be his friend.

Hemmings confessed that he definitely second guesses all the new people he meets: “You have to really pick and choose your people. You know, I think you learn how to do that as you go through this kind of thing. You also don’t relate to anyone at home as much anymore.”

He went onto add that spending time with his older friends has also changed because he feels like they can’t relate to each other as well as they could before: “If you go back and try to do things with them, you really gotta make an effort. I just go back and be a normal dude, because people who you’re friends with for the right reasons just stay with you.”
