5 Seconds of Summer have expressed their gratitude at the support they receive from their fans.

Drummer Ashton Irwin took to Twitter on Thursday (June 2) to gush with praise for the band's devotees.

The group had just announced that their new song 'Girls Talk Boys' will feature on the soundtrack to the upcoming Ghostbusters film.

Irwin wrote: "Holy S**t we are so lucky to have you all. Sending you love!"

'Girls Talk Boys' is set to be available for pre-order today (June 3).

The movie meanwhile will hit cinemas on July 15.
