Hi guys, Please consider this press release for placement on your site. The full press release is attached to this email. Thanks in advance.

The brightest stars shine the shortest–words which hit home too hard on this occasion. On the 9th of October, 2013 at 11.00am, London based Kings of the City’s gravelly voiced, hard hitting front man Danny Wilder, sadly passed away after a long fighting battle with cancer.

London Rock/Blues/Hip-Hop group Kings of the City’s lead man was put on hiatus after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Despite his symptoms, Danny showed no weakness to his fans and stated nothing to the public, although having to cancel a show for the first time at Jazz Café (London) – Danny maintained a positive attitude. Prior to the diagnoses, the band had achieved support from BBC Radio 1's Charlie Sloth, Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, Skream and Benga, and Mista Jam. They had released several EP's, performed in front of 20,000 people in Trafalgar Square and made multiple appearances on SBTV.

Danny led Kings of the City on Maverick Sabre's first UK headline tour, with his fusion blues guitar style and whiskey soaked vocals blowing crowds away in his path. Despite everything going on around him, his mood never dampened, his hopes never fled. Kings of the City, a band described by Zane Lowe as exciting with a bright future, and an example of fusion brought together well, will be finishing the groups final album with Danny and will be releasing it in conjunction with a charity in the near fu- ture. Long time supporter and ally of the London band, BBC Radio1’s Charlie Sloth, dedicated his Saturday night show to the memory of Danny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqJEJiy6J6k

During the whole year of his illness, Danny stayed positive and never complained, focusing only on his family, friends, and his art. He passed away at 11.00 am on the 3rd of October, age 27.
