Jessie J bigs up Ed Sheeran in interview about pop-culture tastes

Jessie J has spoken of her admiration for Ed Sheeran in an interview about her favourite music, films and TV shows.

The 24-year-old, who has previously declared plans to work with the ‘Lego House’ singer, told The Independent that she expects him to have a long and successful career:

“Ed Sheeran's album + is beautiful just because it's purely about his voice and his great songs. It's really honest and any guy that can hold a stage by himself with a guitar and nothing else is someone that is going to be around for a long time."

The ‘Price Tag’ star, who like Sheeran, will be performing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert on Monday night, went onto reveal what she’s currently watching on the box and on the big-screen:

“I have a hard drive that my friend made for me with all my favourite television programmes on that I take around with me. That was a great gift! The shows I enjoy watching the most are Crime Scene Investigation, Come Dine with Me, The Voice and Summer Heights High.

“I recently saw the American Reunion sequel which was funny. I also managed to catch The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with Daniel Craig. It was a very intense film, with lots of twists. That's what I like about films on the whole. I like them to keep you on the very edge of your seat.”

Olly Murs has unveiled his new US video for ‘Heart Skips A Beat’.

The 28-year-old, who is currently on tour in the States supporting One Direction, scored a UK number one with the BRIT Award nominated single last year.

But the X-Factor runner-up has decided to mix things up a little while he tries to crack the US market, and after replacing Rizzle Kicks’ contribution with a rap from Philadelphia MC Chiddy Bang, he decided to film a new promo for the track at Los Angeles’ Rose Bowl last month.

Swapping the original’s skateboard park treatment with a football theme, the new clip sees Murs taking on various roles including a coach, a player and a spectator as well as various shots of him singing along to the track in front of a deserted stand.

Murs had previously expressed his excitement about the video during its shooting, tweeting : “On video shoot at the 'ROSE BOWL' LA!! It's surreal! Playing football in the video!! Not a bad way to celebrate my birthday!!”

Big Time Rush claim The Wanted need to start dancing if they’re to crack the US

Big Time Rush have advised The Wanted to start dancing if they truly want to crack America.

The Nickelodeon boyband, who were recently supported by One Direction on their US tour, told the Daily Star they were surprised that the ‘Chasing The Sun’ stars refuse to throw any shapes whilst on stage.

Logan Henderson said: “The Wanted have a lot to work on. When people come to see a show they expect a full out production and that’s what we do.”

James Maslow agreed, adding: “None of us are dancers first, but when there are four of you on stage, if you’re not playing instruments, what do you do?

“It’s our job to be entertainers on top of singers. We want everybody to dance to our songs so it would be hypocritical not to dance ourselves.”

The US quartet also went onto reveal which British girls they have their eye on. Kendall Schmidt said: “We want to go for dinner next time we’re over in the UK with Pixie Lott. She’s such a sweet girl and so beautiful.

“I also want to see Cher Lloyd in real life. I’m digging her tattoos – we could go get one together.”

Will.i.am has admitted that The Voice may not make great TV but that it will produce great artists.

The Black Eyed Peas star, who was speaking ahead of tonight’s final, said he is pleased that the BBC show has been more about the talent than any backstage drama:

“This show is different. I want to see every single person who walked off the stage proud, not battered and bruised. That is why I like this format.

“Maybe it doesn’t make great TV but it is going to make great artists. All around the world you are seeing the same ratings drop for The Voice live shows – in America, Australia.

“But which one do you want – great TV, or artists who are going to go and perform for people and make people forget about their problems?”

The 37-year-old, who this week unveiled the video for his new single, ‘This Is Love,’ went onto reveal that he still considers the show to be a success:

“If you were to compare this show to the music business, we had a big hit and the hit was 12million viewers. To sustain that, that is when things start getting scripted and fake. But this isn’t.”

The 18-year-old hitmaker suffered a concussion on May 31 after running head first into a glass wall backstage at one of his concerts, but treated his French followers to an impromptu rendition of 'Baby', 'One Time' and 'Boyfriend' from Universal's balcony in the Latin Quarter.

Tweeting about the exciting event, which was incredibly well-received, he wrote: "Loved singing with all of you #WithDanKanter - just like old times. #AlwaysKidrauhl"

Dan Kanter, Bieber's guitarist and music director, added: "What an amazing singalong off the balcony in Paris again w/ JB. We should do that every 2 years! Memories for life."

Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue appeared as a guest on Alan Carr's Chatty Man earlier this evening (June 1) and spoke about sleeping with Jason Donovan in a Travelodge and buying a dress from a sex shop.

Speaking to the funnyman, she confirmed that one of her first romps with then-boyfriend Jason Donovan "was indeed" in a budget hotel:

"I can't talk about those things. It was indeed a travelodge, we had connecting rooms."

She also opened up about her brand new music video for 'Timebomb' and said the skimpy dress she wore for part of the shoot (pictured above left) was purchased from a sex shop, and - perhaps even worse - was straight from the mannequin:

"I like being on a bike yes, the vibrating... the straddle! It (the dress) was about £15 from a sex shop I believe. That one was on the mannequin! I'm telling you, that is pure spandex. The cover says 'one size fits most'."

The girls from Little Mix sat down earlier this evening (June 1) for a revealing interview with British funnyman Alan Carr and spoke about their relationship with X Factor mentor Tulisa, their previous jobs and love lives.

When asked if they keep in touch with N-Dubz singer turned solo star Tulisa Contostavlos, the girls were quick to express their admiration for her and admitted she often cooks for them and recently prepared a meal of curried goat.

Jesy Nelson explained that during the X Factor final, the 'Young' singer was almost as nervous as they were: "she was literally trembling in her dressing room. She cared about us so much."

Comedian Carr asked the question on everyone's lips and encouraged Perrie to talk about her new relationship with One Direction's Zayn Malik, but she was careful with her words and simply said coyly: "Yeah, I'm really happy. He's lovely."

Carr also asked if it was true that one of the other One Direction members had a crush on her during The X Factor, which Jade Thirlwall immediately agreed with, and he joked that she "could have had it in two directions".

Leigh-Anne Pinnock also spoke about her previous job as a Pizza Hut waitress after Carr poked fun at her for her fast-food role and admitted that although she enjoyed the job at times she "didn't look back" when she finally quit to be in Little Mix.

The flamboyant stars Scissor Sisters have admitted they have no intention of calling it a day just yet because they're having so much fun together.

Despite having been together for over a decade, singer Ana Matronic told Gigwise.com that the dynamic between the members is still fantastic and they will continue to make music together until the sparkle fades:

"After 11 years, it's sometimes really difficult to keep the fun going but it helps that we have fun music. No matter what, Jake and I always love to be on stage."

Referring to the band's fans, Matronic explained that there isn't a stereotypical Scissor Sisters listener and she knows a straight follower who even has her face tattooed on his back:

"All kinds of people go to Scissor Sisters shows, and not only do straight people go to shows - we had a straight person on stage proposing to his girlfriend, who is now his fiancée, and this man incidentally has all of our faces tattooed on his back."

"Our music is not made for one kind of person. It isn't just made for gay people. It isn't just made for people who go out to clubs. It isn't just made for people who like to dress up. It's made for everyone and that's the beautiful thing about music - it transcends boundaries."

Now that Amy Winehouse's north-west London home has been put on the market, her family have been forced to defend their decision to sell the property after fans slammed the move.

The late singer's father, Mitch, took to social networking site Twitter last night (May 31) and explained that it was impossible to keep up with payments on the 3-bedroom house and it was simply more cost efficient to sell it:

"Hi everybody. It is with regret that we have to sell Amy's house in Camden Square. It is empty and costing a fortune to secure it. Amy and I both worked on the house and she loved it so much. I hope a lovely family buys t as it is so full of love. Mitch."

"Some of you are being stupid. It costs £25,000 per month to keep house and security."

Meanwhile, Mitch's memoir on Amy, entitled 'Amy, My Daughter', will be available for purchase from June 26 and can be pre-ordered now.

Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen has admitted that her success can be credited to 18-year-old Justin Bieber and she wants to make him proud as she continues with her music career.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone, the 'Call Me Maybe' sensation explained that now she has signed up to support the heartthrob on his forthcoming arena tour she has the resources to make it a fantastic set and wants to make sure her performance is up to Bieber's high standards:

"It is exciting. It's also a really big responsibility. I want to do Justin proud. I'm kind of diving into late-night debates, like "What are we going to have for lighting?" and, "What's the set list going to look like?" And styling."

"It's just a fun sort of brainstorming time to get creative, now that we certainly have the resources to put together the show of my dreams."

She also opened up about the writing process of 'Call Me Maybe' and said it was a simple track to create: "It was written be me and two of my good friends, Josh Ramsay and my guitarist Tavish Crowe."

"It started like any song starts, just sort of a folky tune that I was playing while I was on the road with Tav. The lyrics came very easily. We weren't really over-thinking it."

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan to reunite for special duet

Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue has confirmed that she will take the stage with her former on and off-screen love interest Jason Donovan for an exciting live collaboration.

Speaking to Glamour magazine, the superstar explained that during her set at the upcoming PWL Hyde Park concert, which is set to take place on July 11, she will bring Donovan out for a special performance of their classic duet 'Especially For You'.

"I'm going to sing 'Especially for You' with Jason Donovan. I don't think we'll even need to sing it. I'm sure the audience all went through the 'Neighbours' wedding. It's going to bring the house down! Even though it's outdoors."

In the new Glamour interview, she also opened up about how nervous she was to launch the 'Anti-Tour' and explained that she was concerned the public would perceive her as "uncool":

"It was torturous inside me. I just thought, 'I can't be that person, she's not accepted, she's so uncool', and it transpires I was none of those things. The coolest people were just, 'No, we love those songs, we love you from that time', but I had to go through my own process to where I could embrace it. The 'Anti-Tour'. I could bore you still with what that tour meant to me!"
