Adele set to ditch breakup lyrics on next album

Adele has hinted that she is set to move away from penning songs about heartbreak.

The singer has gained a reputation for focusing her lyrics on break ups, but speaking to Vogue, she has admitted that she is looking to veer away from the subject.

Adele, who graces the cover of the magazine, said that she is "done being a bitter witch" as she looks to build on the success of her acclaimed '21'.

She added that she will "never write a breakup record again".

However, break up lyrics or not, her music has certainly captured the hearts and minds of the the world. Last night (February 12) the vocal powerhouse won all six categories that she was nominated for at the Grammy Awards, and performed for the first time since vocal surgery.

Tulisa took to Twitter yesterday (February 12) to spread her thoughts, claiming that she is too "masculine" for her own good.

She tweeted: "I'm way 2 masculine 4 my own good, life would b so much easier if I was born a lesbian...#complicated."

Sinead O'Connor takes aim at TV talent shows

Sinead O'Connor has taken aim at TV talent shows - but admits she would consider being a judge on one of them.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, O'Connor aired her views on shows like the X Factor, branding them as overly concerned with "material success". She said:

Well sadly that's the way the world is, that we're all brought up to believe material success and everything is where it's at, and the music business has gone that way, hasn't it? With all these shows, 'Pop Idol' and blah, blah. The entertainment is fantastic, but often those shows, they give this kind of thing, it's like this worship of fame, that people just want to be famous, do you know what I mean?"

However, O'Connor said she would consider becoming a judge on the shows if she was asked. She added:

"Yeah I'd consider it and I'm always amused when I watch those shows, because I think to myself 'Those poor young people on stage at those shows, like 'Pop Idol' or 'X Factor', really they want to enter into a particular world', but when they look from the stage down to the panel they should see that this is a world you don't want to enter because you're going to end up like these guys. It becomes like therapy for the panel, they're all crying over their mothers and this, that and the other, and having emotional breakdowns and arguments and beating each other up, and it's all about these famous people who have achieved what these young people are setting out to achieve. Now look at these people, get out!"

Sir Tom Jones tips Adele for the next James Bond theme

Sir Tom Jones has thrown his weight behind Adele as the speculation over who will record the next James Bond theme song intensifies.

Legendary Welsh crooner Jones recorded the theme for Thunderball way back in 1965, but he reckons now is the time for Adele to put her mark on the famous Bond franchise.

Skyfall, the next Bond film, is due out later this year and although Jones knows the megastar doesn't need to do it, he reckons she would be a perfect fit. The Sun quotes him as saying:

"I was 22 when I did the Thunderball song and it changed my career and was a huge honour. Not that she needs it but Adele would be the perfect choice for doing Skyfall."

As previously reported, Adele reigned supreme last night (February 12) at the Grammy Awards, winning a total of six gongs.

Simon Cowell helped an anxious Britain's Got Talent employee see the birth of his new baby - by giving him a ride home in his private jet.

The BBC reports that John Hagenstede, a sound man for the TV talent show, was with the crew in Edinburgh when his girlfriend went into labour back in Surrey.

However, as it was late evening and transport was at a premium, Cowell offered to give him a ride in his private jet back to Luton, alongside judges David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

Cowell even arranged for a car to pick Hagenstede up from the airport - in time to see the birth of his new son, Jude Berkeley Hagenstede. Speaking about the events, Hagenstede said:

"Simon, David and Alesha were so brilliant. They knew how important it was to me and not only did they let me share their private jet, they also gave me drinks on the flight, relaxed me and were generally lovely and supportive."

Gotye has finally taken the UK by storm and climbed to the top of the Official Top 40 tonight (February 12) with his single 'Somebody That I Used To Know'.

Radio 1's Reggie Yates congratulated him live on air and he was audibly impressed by the fantastic news, and said: "Oh wow! Good time to be in the country! I'm actually just out with my bandmates in London doing some record shopping."

When asked about the impact the song has had on the British public, he added: "It's kind of... it continues to confound my expectations. It feels a bit unreal! I'm completely confident that whatever I put out next off this record won't be as big as this song!"

"This song is, for whatever reason, the one that stands head and shoulders above on this record."

David Guetta's 'Titanium' is now at No.2 and Will.i.am's 'T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)' has debuted respectably at No.3. Madonna's 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' has entered at No.37 despite her high profile performance of the song at the 2012 Super Bowl.
