Klaxons to debut second album at summer festivals

Klaxons will finally unveil songs from their long overdue second album at the festivals this summer.

It's three years since the group released their Mercury Prize-winning debut 'Myths of the Near Future', but they now plan to release the sequel after their forthcoming appearances.

Guitarist Simon Taylor-Davies said, "I think in England it's just going to be Reading and Leeds, in terms of festivals, this summer. Then we'll tour all the way through to the festivals next year. I think we'll do a few spot shows around the summer, but this will be our big comeback." He told NME. Speaking about the new album, Simon added to the music mag, "One of the fundamental things about this new record is how much of a live record it is. It was written and recorded with the four of us in a room facing each, in a room that was about three metres squared."

Earlier this year Klaxons said that their new LP is inspired by Shamanism.

Sarah Harding tired of Girls Aloud split rumours

Sarah Harding is getting tired of the constant stories that Girls Aloud are on the verge of breaking-up.

The band are simply taking a hiatus to pursue their own solo projects, before reuniting to record their sixth studio album (the follow-up to 2008's 'Out Of Control'), but several tabloids have claimed all is not well within the chart-topping girl-group and suggested a split is on the horizon.

Harding however, says otherwise, "There's so much sh*t out there at the moment. Don't believe everything you read."

As for her so-called feud with Nadine Coyle, Sarah added, "I don't know when I last spoke to her. But we've not fallen out. That's b***ocks."

The 28-year-old also denied that she is planning a solo album.

Gaga has insomnia due to work obsession

Lady GaGa has revealed that she finds it difficult to sleep at night, because she is forever plotting her career and kept awake with an overactive mind.

The overworked singer admits that she can't stop thinking of her next move. "My passion is so strong I can't sleep," GaGa explained during a conversation with OK!. "I haven't slept for three days... I lie in bed and try to pray and breathe. "I have a very overactive mind. I'm the sort of person who'd never take medication to calm myself. It's maddening. But I love what comes out," GaGa said to the magazine. "If my destiny is to lose my mind because of fame, then that's my destiny. But my passion still means more than anything. For some people, fame kills it and becomes more important than the music or the performance. But for me fame is like rocket fuel. The more my fans like what I'm doing, the more I want to give back to them."

Liam Gallagher criticises Brit music

Liam Gallagher has criticised the current British music scene - laying into bands including Bombay Bicycle Club and Bloc Party.

Despite Gallagher admitting to Live4ever.uk.com that he does not know that many new bands, he picked out a few of the acts he despises most. As well as Bloc Party and Bombay Bicycle Club, he also referenced "Fire Flies" (possibly meaning Friendly Fires) and "Arcade" (possibly meaning Arcade Fire). "Do you want me to say I like Bloc Party?" Gallagher asked. "I don't even know who the new bands are. Do you want me to say I like Fire Flies? Or Arcade… or fuckin' Bombay Bicycle - they can fuck off with that name for a start! He added: "I'm not gonna pick up Bombay Bicycle's record 'cause of the stupid fuckin' name they've got."

Meanwhile, Gallagher also gave more details about how he met his new bassist Jeff Wootton, who is currently on tour with Damon Albarn in Gorillaz. He confirmed that the 24 year-old is part of his new band (alongside former Oasis members Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock), but that the bassist will only play live for the time being. "He's not going to be playing on their album. Just live. But we'll see how it goes, you know what I mean?" explained Gallagher. "Jeff's an ambitious kid. He's only 24 and he's a fully-fledged musician."

Libertines to reform for festivals

The Libertines are set to reform for a headline slot at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August. The band, which centred around the songwriting partnership of Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, have not played together as the Libertines since 2004. The group are reportedly set to receive a huge sum for their performance, rumoured to be around £1.5m.

The Libertines formed in 1997, with bassist John Hassall and drummer Gary Powell making up the lineup. The band earned themselves a devoted fanbase following the release of their debut album 'Up the Bracket' in 2002. However, drug problems caused the band to disintegrate around the time of their second, self-titled album. Barât kicked his best friend Doherty out of the band in attempt to make him wake up to his heroin addiction, although this only served to increase antagonism between the pair.

Doherty went on to form Babyshambles while Barât became the frontman of Dirty Pretty Things, who split up in 2008. Relations between the pair have thawed considerably in recent times, however, and they have played on stage together on several occasions since the split. According to reports, the group will consider announcing further dates and writing new material if the reunion goes well.

Don't expect the road to be too smooth, though. Doherty was arrested last week on suspicion of supplying drugs following the death of Robin Whitehead at a flat in east London earlier this year.
