Kasabian leave bunch of flowers at Amy Winehouse memorial

Kasabian frontman, Tom Meighan, has revealed that he sent a bunch of flowers to the memorial of the late singer, Amy Winehouse.

Meighan, who learnt of Winehouse's death through a phone call from his bandmate, Serge Pizzorno, said that he had been "really shocked” by the news.

Speaking to Music Week, he said, "I was really shocked. My body went cold. Before 'Back To Black' came out we had a sing song around hers… it was great, lovely memories. I was singing one of my songs and then she just sang and I was like, 'Wow what a lovely voice!"

He continued, "I am just so sorry. I had a tear, a little tear. I was in shock. My body went cold. I sent over some flowers today to her shrine from Kasabian – where all those people are putting all flowers – a big bunch of flowers from us. I think that’s respectful. She was lovely, wasn’t she?"

Winehouse was cremated on Tuesday (July 26) at a private funeral. She was found dead in her Camden home last Saturday on July 23, at the age of 27.

Morrissey clarifies Norway massacre comments in a statement

Morrissey sparked controversy earlier this week after he said the cruelty of Anders Breivik in the Norway attacks were "nothing" compared to the inhumanity of fast food restaurants and has now released a statement clarifying his opinions.

He explained to fan site True To You:

"The recent killings in Norway were horrific. As usual in such cases, the media give the killer exactly what he wants - worldwide fame. We aren't told the names of the people who were killed - almost as if they are not considered to be important enough, yet the media frenzy to turn the killer into a Jack The Ripper star is... repulsive. He should be un-named, not photographed, and quietly led away."

He then spoke directly about his comments on stage in Warsaw and added:

"The comment I made on stage at Warsaw could be further explained this way - Millions of beings are routinely murdered every single day in order to fund profits for McDonalds and KFCruelty, but because these murders are protected by laws, we are asked to feel indifferent about the killings, and to not even dare question them."

"If you quite rightly feel horrified at the Norway killings, then it surely naturally follows that you feel horror at the murder of ANY innocent being. You cannot ignore animal suffering simply because animals 'are not us'."

Beyoncé has revealed that during her musical hiatus she spent time touring with her husband and explained, "I've always been a Jay-Z groupie".

Speaking on popular U.S chat show The View, the 29-year-old 'Run The World (Girls)' hitmaker admitted that she was on the verge of burning herself out so decided to take a break from her high-octane and high-pressure career.
