"I've just got engaged...in true leap year style!! #sorryladies she was the only one that asked!!"

The JLS lads were also inundated with marriage proposals and added: "WHY have I had so many Marriage proposals today all of sudden?? whats goin on lol ?? Ori x"

The well-loved lead singer of the iconic group passed away at his Florida home after suffering a "massive heart-attack" during his sleep. 

Jones, who was married 3 times, leaves behind 4 daughters and a phenomenal musical legacy. The Monkees formed in 1966 and enjoyed international success with their popular television show, numerous chart-topping albums and countless live tours. 

3 of the band's original members - Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork - also reunited in 2011 to play a series of gigs around the UK.

Although the talented young singer hasn't publicly spoken out about the situation, a message was posted on the group's official Twitter page earlier this evening (February 29) that explained he has returned home to the UK for a few days so will be absent from the next few gigs:

"Zayn has suffered a loss in his family & has had to go home for a few days so won't be at our next shows in the US......Our thoughts are with him and his family at this sad time."

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars are set to perform a live set at Foxwoods in Connecticut on March 1 before travelling to Washington DC for a show on March 2 and will then continue on to 4 more dates in the USA in support of boyband Big Time Rush. 

In a new interview with ITV's Daybreak (February 29), the 'Bat Out Of Hell' hitmaker explained that there are only 3 vocalists in his opinion who can do the "overdrive" technique and named Lambert as one of them:

"There's only 3 singers that I've ever thought in life that have this ability to do what is called an 'overdrive'. One is Aretha (Franklin), one is Whitney (Houston) and there's a singer named Adam Lambert - a young kid - that has this overdrive, and I'm really jealous of those people."

Lambert's incredible range and control was also noticed by the legendary band Queen last year, who recruited him for a special one-off performance at the MTV EMAs as their frontman for the evening.

Following his phenomenal set with the group back in November, he has since confirmed that they will reunite for an exclusive slot at the UK's Sonisphere festival this summer.

The talented musician's chart reign may not last until the weekend though because The Official Charts Company has reported that Dappy's 'Rockstar', which also features Queen legend Brian May, is at No.2 with only a few thousand copies separating him from Gotye's single and the coveted No.1 spot. 

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' has climbed a place to No.6, Kelly Clarkson's anthemic single 'Stronger' has risen 4 positions to No.9 and duo Chiddy Bang have made an appearance at No.13 with 'Ray Charles'. 

Demi Lovato's inspirational track 'Skyscraper' has debuted at No.23 this afternoon and other new entries are from Arctic Monkeys at 14 with 'R U Mine' and Utah Saints vs. Drumsound and Bassline Smith at 23 with 'What Can You Do For Me'. 

The vocal superstar is on course to spend her 22nd non-consecutive week at the top if '21' remains where it currently is until the positions are confirmed on Sunday, March 4 and The Official Charts Company has explained:

"Combined with the one week she spent at Number 1 with her debut album, '19', another chart-topping week would see Adele this Sunday overtaking music legend David Bowie in the number of career weeks spent at Number 1 in the Official Albums Chart."

Earlier this week, the record-breaking album overtook Michael Jackson's 'Bad' in the list of the all-time top selling albums in UK and has spent a phenomenal 58 weeks on the UK Top 40 so far. 

Elsewhere, Emeli Sandé's debut 'Our Version Of Events' is at No.2, Meat Loaf's 'Hell In A Handbasket' has entered at No.5 and the late Whitney Houston's 'Essential' collection has climbed 9 places to No.8. 

Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' has made an appearance at No.10 and The Ting Tings have charted at No.13 with 'Sounds From Nowheresville'.

The rising star is set to release 'Blue Jeans' as the third cut from her major label debut album, 'Born To Die', later this spring.

The track will also be accompanied by exciting remixes from the likes of D/R/U/G/S, RAC, Blood Orange and Kris Menace. 

Del Rey, who recently won the 2012 Best International Newcomer title at the BRITs, has made a significant impact on the UK charts since unveiling her debut single 'Video Games' and spent a couple of weeks at No.1 with her full-length record. 

'Blue Jeans' has been officially confirmed for a release date of April 8.

The group are currently making it big Stateside, with a number of sold-out shows and TV appearances under their belt.

And, speaking to MTV, George tried to explain the differences between crowds back home and over in the US - stating that the Americans "really get into it". He said:

"With the US crowd, they love music over there and they really get into it when we are performing and literally bounce off you. Here [in the UK], they are just crazy in the sense of they scream in your face and they wanna rip your clothes off which is brilliant."

George added that the band can't really get their heads around their US popularity, despite currently touring the UK in massive arenas. He said:

"Absolutely as it was our first time over there and obviously, you see on Twitter that people are saying come over [to America] but we didn't expect that. We would turn up at every gig that we did and it was absolutely rammed and they were singing every song - we cant really get our heads round it to be honest."

The sultry singer took to Twitter to post the pictures, with the pair also joined by Akon and RedOne.

She tweeted: "Hanging out with Red Foo (LMFAO), Akon and Red One in my studio in Barcelona!"

Shakira later tweeted a photo of the group dancing away.

As previously reported, Shakira recently endured a run-in with an over zealous sea lion whilst on holiday in South Africa, suffering cuts as a result.

The experimental track 'Shoot A Hole Into The Sun' will form the B-side to the ex Oasis man's upcoming single 'Dream On'.

The single will be released on March 11, with a limited edition physical release the day after.

Speaking last year about the collaboration, Gallagher said: It's f***ing far out. It's got like 18 tracks on it, some of it's krautrock, some of it's soul, some of it's funk and that's just the first song."

Speaking to Digital Spy, Jay McGuiness said they have recorded new material with Tedder as they form a release strategy in America.

"We're really, really happy for them. They're nothing like us so there is no rivalry! They own that whole Bieber-style mania, and they all look perfect - we could never do that. We both have our place, and you can't help but wish guys that you genuinely like all the best."

The veteran rock star was due on ITV's Loose Women today (February 29) but was forced to cancel at the very last minute.

The singer was joking around backstage prior to his scheduled appearance, posing with a banana on his head.

However, host Andrea McLean soon after told viewers that he would not be able to make his appearance on the chat show. She said:

"A little bit of sad news - I'm afraid Meat Loaf has taken unwell so he's unable to join us for the end of the show...Meat Loaf, I hope you feel better soon."

Last year the singer collapsed at a live show, blaming lack of oxygen for the incident.

Media reports had suggested that Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson were at the top of the shortlist to play the late singing star.

The brains behind the film was supposedly to be record executive and Houston's friend Clive Davis - but speaking to the Gossip Cop, a representative for Davis has dismissed the reports as false. They said:
