Adam Levine hits out at 'pop star who recycles old art for young fans'

Maroon 5 heartthrob Adam Levine slammed an unnamed artist via his official Twitter page recently and users of the popular social networking site have been suggesting that his rant was aimed at Lady Gaga because of the detail he went into

Writing on Twitter over the weekend, he revealed his lack of interest in stars who 'recycle old art for a younger generation' and his messages appeared to point towards Gaga, who has been using Botticelli's 'The Birth of Venus' painting as inspiration for her new album and personal style:

"Ugh..recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher."

Levine then returned to the site shortly after and exclaimed that he doesn't feel the need to rehash old ideas to make himself relevant, adding: "I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's It. It doesn't need any extra sauce."
