Adam Levine on 'Sexiest Man Alive' title: 'I'll get so much crap from people for it'

Maroon 5 heartthrob Adam Levine has spoken out about being named People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' and joked that he'll probably never live the title down among his friends.

During an interview with E! Online, the 'One More Night' sensation explained that he was surprised to be crowned and will be made the butt of jokes by his peer group as a result of the 'iconic' poll:

"It's bizarre. It's funny. It's awesome, flattering. I'm going to just be getting so much crap from everybody I know, it's going to be interesting to ensure. It's an iconic thing, it's just, it's funny."

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was also in the running for the title and he admitted that he'll probably use the nomination to pick up women:

"One of the reasons I said yes to being in this issue is because it’s quite funny. Utterly ridiculous! I don’t think anyone sees me as a sex symbol. I don’t know who the voting party are for PEOPLE, but thank you. It’s very kind [...] I haven’t been allowed to tell anyone about being in this issue, but as soon as it’s out, I’m going to use it as a chat-up line."
