Alicia Keys reveals closet skeleton

Alicia Keys has revealed that her debut album, ‘Songs in A Minor’, which has sold over 12 million copies worldwide, was recorded in a wardrobe.

“It was amazing because basically we turned the bedroom into a studio,” the singer says in a video promoting Beats Audio for Hewlett-Packard.  “The closet was a vocal booth so we put some blankets up. You can imagine how we tortured the neighbours, they would bang on the ceiling with a broom.”

‘Songs in A Minor’ scooped five awards at the 2002 Grammys and went on to become one of the most successful albums of the 2000s.
