Alicia Keys explains reason for unreleased video with Beyoncé

Alicia Keys has explained the reason why the video for her collaboration with Beyoncé never saw the light of day.

'Put It In A Love Song,' the track she recorded with the former Destiny’s Child star for 2009’s 'The Element of Freedom,' was initially intended to be a single. But after it was pulled from the release schedule, the promo was never unveiled to the public.

Keys told Essence magazine: "Sometimes with creative things [it] all comes together and it's [perfect], and sometimes things almost come together and it's better to just leave it.”

But the 31-year-old, who releases fifth album, 'Girl On Fire,' in November, added that she still enjoyed the experience of working with the ‘Crazy In Love’ hitmaker:

"We had a ball shooting the video. It just so happens that the whole thing, for some reason or another, didn't quite come together, so we just decided to leave it."
