Alicia Keys has joked that she has play dates with fellow mother Beyoncé.

Keys gave birth to her son Egypt in 2010 whilst Beyoncé had daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January this year.

Speaking to Capital FM, Alicia Keys quipped that she often meets up with the 'Love On Top' star to spend time together with their kids.

However, she said that she does indeed speak with Beyoncé a lot about being a mother. When asked if they have a baby group, she said:

"We do. We have like our little play dates. But no, we're friends and it's amazing to be able to have children at the same time – it's actually really cool." 

She continued: "It just changes you, we talk a lot and it's like what's important has shifted."

Speaking about becoming a mother, Keys added:

"It's amazing. It's unbelievable. I just feel better in every possible way I can be and a joy I can't even explain."

Keys meanwhile is set to play the iTunes Festival in London tonight (September 28).
